Nansemond-Suffolk Academy had won four straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 7-3 to make it five. They managed a 27-22 win over St. Anne's-Belfield. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw St. Anne's-Belfield, too.

Madden Gilliatt had a dynamite game, rushing for 80 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 118 yards and one TD. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Peyton Blair made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Anne's-Belfield fell to 8-1. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Anne's-Belfield lost, don't look at Jonah Brent. Despite the final result, he rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Brent showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Anne's-Belfield: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on the 7th.
