Baseball Recap: Bingham Falls Short Against Ranked Mountain Ridge

Bingham faced Mountain Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Miners fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 7-6. The Miners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sentinels earlier this season, when they won 7-5.

Kam Beck made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Jared Orullian was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bingham has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-7 Corner Canyon (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67% over those games). As for Mountain Ridge, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Bingham will face off against Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will challenge Corner Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sentinels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
