The D'Iberville Warriors will face off against the Gulfport Admirals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Friday, D'Iberville was fully in charge, breezing past St. Martin 46-10. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Jordan Walley, who threw for 301 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 89 yards and one TD. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chan Harvey, who rushed for 65 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Gulfport never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over Biloxi. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Admirals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Indians are ranked 52nd).

D'Iberville better keep an eye on Cooper Crosby. He was instrumental in Gulfport's win, rushing for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 59 receiving yards and one TD. Crosby's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Parker Nettles was another key signal caller, throwing for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes.

Gulfport didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Biloxi to a completion percentage of just 45.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Andre Peters, Tyrell Seals, and Jayonne Pollard, who each logged one passes deflected. Gulfport has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.

Gulfport's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for D'Iberville, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. D'Iberville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Gulfport struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 169.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

D'Iberville lost to Gulfport at home by a decisive 38-19 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crosby, who rushed for 112 yards and three scores. Now that the Warriors know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
