Baseball Game Preview: Lecanto Panthers vs. Springstead Eagles

Lecanto hasn't had much luck against Springstead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lecanto Panthers will take on the Springstead Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Lecanto has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lecanto is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Weeki Wachee by a score of 6-4.

Brenden Marcic made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Springstead didn't have quite enough to beat Nature Coast Tech on Friday and fell 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Sharks since March 5, 2021.

Dalton Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Sabino, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lecanto, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
