Baseball Recap: Tri-Township Tigers vs. Westville Blackhawks
Tri-Township barely beat Westville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Blackhawks on Friday. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cody Vernich made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Dailey was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Hector Osornio also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
