Basketball Recap: Suitland Comes Up Short

Suitland lost against Flowers back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Suitland Rams fell to the Flowers Jaguars 69-63. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Jaguars are ranked 27th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flowers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macaedan Schooler, who made all 5 shots he took for 12 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Brooks, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Suitland dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Flowers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Coming up, Suitland will host Wise at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Flowers, they will venture away from home to face off against Laurel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flowers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully Laurel likes a good challenge.
