Basketball Recap: West Boca Raton Bulls vs. Santaluces Chiefs

The West Boca Raton Bulls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Santaluces. This was payback for West Boca Raton, who suffered a 78-56 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Santaluces still got an impressive performance from Decarious Jenkins, who scored 19 points along with four steals. That was a full 52.8% of Santaluces' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Marvin Michel was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

West Boca Raton pushed their record up to 11-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Santaluces, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

West Boca Raton will head out on the road to face off against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Boca Raton and the Bulls are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Santaluces, they will be playing at home against the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Emmanuel Augustin and Jenkins.
