Softball Recap: Fertile-Beltrami's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Fertile-Beltrami, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears with a sharp 22-2 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Britta Sorenson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Sorenson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carley Sip was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted over her last eight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Kresl, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Fertile-Beltrami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .875. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fertile-Beltrami's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Clearbrook-Gonvick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
