Football Game Preview: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Green Valley Gators + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Jerome Sequeira and Michael Lewis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Desert Pines Jaguars will square off against the Green Valley Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 975 yards in their previous games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Desert Pines turned things around against Canyon Springs on Friday. They blew past the Pioneers, posting a 48-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won three matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Marcus Williams produced another solid effort picking up 59 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 77 yards.

Desert Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaisun Gill and DeMichael Burks. Desert Pines got some further help from Peyton Yandall: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Green Valley didn't have too much trouble with Legacy on Friday as they won 34-18. That 16 point margin sets a new team best for the Gators this season.

Desert Pines better keep an eye on Sonny Uranich. He was instrumental in Green Valley's win, rushing for 277 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 16.3 yards per carry.

Green Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 339 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Desert Pines' record now sits at 4-5. As for Green Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Desert Pines and Green Valley were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played on October 3rd, but Desert Pines suffered an agonizing 19-18 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lewis, who rushed for 89 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 89 yards and one touchdown.
