Basketball Game Preview: Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams vs. Blacklick Valley Vikings

The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Blacklick Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Turkeyfoot Valley Area will be strutting in after a win while Blacklick Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Turkeyfoot Valley Area blew past Hyndman Charter School, posting a 67-21 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Turkeyfoot Valley Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Nicholson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Nicholson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Jones, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Blacklick Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 53-45 to Ferndale. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 14-10 in the first quarter.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area will need focus on slowing down Drew McEvoy, one of several Blacklick Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Gdula, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Blacklick Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area came up short against Blacklick Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-58. Can Turkeyfoot Valley Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
