Volleyball Recap: Bear Creek Bears vs. Conifer Lobos

Bear Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Conifer Lobos, falling 3-0. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lobos from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Bear Creek was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Conifer work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 27-25, 25-23.

Thomas Amirah paced Bear Creek's offense, picking up six kills. Amirah got some help from Hannah Anderson and her seven assists. Miley Gutierrez and Sophia Ramirez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Cece Johns had an outrageously good game for Conifer as she had 21 digs and one assist.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bear Creek will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Denver North at 6:30 p.m. on September 8. After both having extra time off, Conifer and Silver Creek will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
