Baseball Game Preview: Central Woodstock Falcons vs. Staunton Storm

The Central Woodstock Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Staunton Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Woodstock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Staunton will be up against a hot Central Woodstock team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Falcons came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Rappahannock County. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Isaac Barb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. He has become a key player for Central Woodstock: the team is 8-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Central Woodstock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Freakley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Freakley has posted since back in April.
