Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Liberty Hawks
Chavez has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Liberty Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chavez walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Sanger West 56-28 at home. With Chavez ahead 42-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Liberty sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over Firebaugh on Friday.
The critical scores for Liberty came from Talan Lamattina and Dolan Dilbeck.
Chavez now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Chavez was taken down by Liberty 27-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Can Chavez avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
