Softball Game Preview: Pearl-Cohn Firebirds vs. Stratford Spartans

Pearl-Cohn is 1-9 against Stratford since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Pearl-Cohn will host Stratford at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pearl-Cohn is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Whites Creek, falling 28-16. While the Firebirds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cobras 8-0 in the first period.

Meanwhile, Stratford lost 21-6 to East Nashville Magnet on Thursday. The Spartans have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pearl-Cohn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pearl-Cohn skirted past Stratford 12-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Will Pearl-Cohn repeat their success, or does Stratford has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
