Basketball Recap: DME Academy Blue Comes Up Short

DME Academy Blue lost against Southland Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The DME Academy Blue - lost 81-57 to the Southland Christian FLAMES. The - were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-29.

Southland Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javon Chavez, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 22 points and three steals. What's more, Chavez also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Sebastian Rivera was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.

DME Academy Blue's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Southland Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.

DME Academy Blue does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southland Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pathways at 6:45 a.m. on March 7th.
