The Cortez Colts will head out to square off against the Kingman Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Cortez ended up a good deal behind Phoenix Christian and lost 35-19. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Cortez had strong showings from Jamerrius Anthony, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and Michael Anthony, who rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, Michael is now averaging an impressive 100.2 rushing yards per game.

Cortez wouldn't let Phoenix Christian keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Anthony, Christian Rego, and Vicente Sanchez picked up one apiece. Meanwhile, Kingman Academy came into Friday's game having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Highland Prep by a score of 28-16 on Friday. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
