Softball Recap: Slippery Rock Comes Up Short

Slippery Rock came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Grove City Eagles, falling 11-1. The Rockets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Slippery Rock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Madden, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Madden's first of the season.

Slippery Rock now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Grove City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Slippery Rock is taking a road trip to challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grove City, they will be playing at home against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
