Basketball Recap: Beverly Hills Takes a Loss

Beverly Hills lost against Leuzinger last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Beverly Hills Normans took a 71-57 bruising from the Leuzinger Olympians. While losing is never fun, the Normans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Olympians are ranked 104th).

Leuzinger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Garland, who posted 19 points. Darrell Bagsby was another key player, putting up 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Beverly Hills and nudges their season record down to 13-14. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Leuzinger, they pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Beverly Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-37 defeat against Pasadena on the 12th. As for Leuzinger, they have also already played their next contest, a 70-58 loss against Mira Costa on the 12th.
