Soccer Game Preview: Lathrop vs. North Pole

The Lathrop Malemutes will square off against the North Pole Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lathrop will be strutting in after a victory while North Pole will be coming in after a loss.

Lathrop will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Bartlett on Saturday. The Malemutes put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 5-1 win.

Meanwhile, North Pole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against West Valley, falling 4-1.

North Pole's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lathrop, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Lathrop took their win against North Pole in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0 score. Will the Malemutes repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
