Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Copper Hills

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Copper Hills had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Skyridge Falcons a 5-0 shutout. This was payback for the Grizzlies, who suffered a 5-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kooper Beebe was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Copper Hills is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise. Beebe was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Copper Hills let Ali Carrillo Jr and Eli Steffey run wild. Carrillo Jr went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Steffey got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Copper Hills and bumps their season record up to 15-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Skyridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Copper Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against Skyridge: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
