Baseball Recap: Elkhart Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elkhart can now relate to. They fell just short of the Northridge Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brennon Whickcar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Northridge, they moved to 16-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Elkhart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northridge, they will take on Goshen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the RedHawks at the right time seeing as the RedHawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
