Recap: Immanuel Christian Warriors vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish
The Immanuel Christian Warriors have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cathedral on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Immanuel Christian in their matchups with Cathedral: they've now lost six in a row.
Immanuel Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hector Perez, who scored 15 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Ayala, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Immanuel Christian's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-8. As for Cathedral, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-11.
Immanuel Christian will head out on the road to take on Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Cathedral, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against El Paso Leadership Academy East at 6:00 p.m. Cathedral is coming into the match with seven straight wins at home, meaning El Paso Leadership Academy East will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
