Football Game Preview: Wilson Mules vs. Marshall Barristers

Wilson is 8-1 against Marshall since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mules will be playing in front of their home fans against the Barristers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Wilson took a blow against Eagle Rock, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Mules can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 868th, while the Eagles are ranked 368th).

Meanwhile, Marshall came up short against Lincoln on Friday and fell 35-28. While the Barristers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Tigers 14-8.

Wilson will have to contain Nathaniel Cadet as he made an impact in Marshall's last game. He rushed for 34 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 160 yards and one touchdown.

Even if they lost, Marshall's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: James Hibbs, Mohamed Ali El-Yassimi, and Enzo Meres, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Wilson's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Wilson against Marshall when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-20 win. Will the Mules repeat their success, or do the Barristers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
