Basketball Game Preview: Clear Falls Knights vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Clear Falls and Clear Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Clear Falls Knights will host the Clear Springs Chargers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Clear Falls fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Clear Creek on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 57-55. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Clear Springs waltzed into their game on Thursday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They strolled past the Buccaneers with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 757th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clear Springs pushed their record up to 26-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Clear Falls, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10.
