Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Spanish Springs walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 67-49 victory over the Damonte Ranch Mustangs on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on 16 straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spanish Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Hensley, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 12 points and five boards. Hensley is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Hummel, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Spanish Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 19 consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Damonte Ranch still got an impressive performance from Jeriah Macias, who went 7-for-15 en route to 19 points and four steals. Kin Vong was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Spanish Springs' victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Damonte Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Coming up, Spanish Springs will challenge Rancho at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Rancho knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Spanish Springs likes a good challenge. Damonte Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
