Two dominant backs in Garrett Nowlan and Tyvon Patterson-Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Charlotte Catholic Cougars will challenge the A.C. Reynolds Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Catholic will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
It was a proper cat-fight when Charlotte Catholic duked it out with Piedmont two weeks ago. The Cougars never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 49-0 victory. The Cougars not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 52-3).
Charlotte Catholic found their leader in sophomore Nowlan, who rushed for 114 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries.
Charlotte Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

Charlotte Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lukas Lupinski and Chase Kummer. Charlotte Catholic is undefeated when Lupinski posts one or more interceptions, but 3-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and A.C. Reynolds had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past South Caldwell to the tune of 56-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Charlotte Catholic better keep an eye on Tremaine Keeter. He was instrumental in A.C. Reynolds' win, picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 77 yards and one score. Keeter really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Kolton Rymer was another key player, throwing for 119 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes.
A.C. Reynolds has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.2 points over those games. As for Charlotte Catholic, their record is now 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Charlotte Catholic against A.C. Reynolds in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as the squad secured a 27-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
