Basketball Game Preview: Olive Branch Conquistadors vs. Booneville Blue Devils

The Olive Branch Conquistadors will head out on the road to challenge the Booneville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Olive Branch sitting on five straight victories and Booneville on ten.

Last Tuesday, Olive Branch got the win against Lake Cormorant by a conclusive 70-45. The Conquistadors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Booneville). They blew past Mantachie 70-27 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Olive Branch's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Booneville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Olive Branch couldn't quite finish off Booneville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 40-38. Can Olive Branch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
