Peru came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Plattsburgh Hornets with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was payback for the Nighthawks, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Plattsburgh scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.

Lily Siskavich paced Peru's offense, picking up eight kills. Siskavich really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. Alexis Burdo controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Peru's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Plattsburgh, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Peru will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northern Adirondack at 6:00 p.m. on October 7. As for Plattsburgh, they will be playing at home against AuSable Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
