Football Recap: Oakman Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Midfield last Friday, Oakman came back down to earth. The Wildcats and the Southeastern Mustangs were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but the Wildcats suffered a 29-28 loss. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 19-7 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Thomas, who rushed for 127 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 62 yards and one TD. Thomas' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 127 rushing yards. Another receiver making a difference was Hampton Hall, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Oakman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southeastern, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Oakman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southeastern, they will square off against Sulligent at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th.
