Soccer Game Preview: Deer Creek vs. Moore

The Deer Creek Antlers will take on the Moore Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Deer Creek's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Putnam City North as they made off with a 4-0 win. Give Deer Creek's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Moore fell victim to Northwest Classen and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Moore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Northwest Classen are ranked 17th).

Moore's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Deer Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Deer Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Moore in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Antlers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
