Basketball Recap: Domingo Hernandez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jubilee

KIPP University Prep hadn't done well against Jubilee recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. KIPP University Prep enjoyed a cozy 52-38 victory over Jubilee. For KIPP University Prep, this counts as revenge for the 76-29 win Jubilee walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2018.

KIPP University Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Domingo Hernandez led the charge by putting up eight points along with six rebounds and four steals. Hernandez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was David Fuentes Huertas, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points.

KIPP University Prep has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, KIPP University Prep will square off against Vanguard Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jubilee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vela at 1:00 p.m. on December 4.
