Basketball Game Preview: Community School of Davidson Spartans vs. Mountain Island Charter Raptors

Two dominant guards in Dermot Lowry and Christan Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Community School of Davidson Spartans will be playing at home against the Mountain Island Charter Raptors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Community School of Davidson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Mountain Island Charter likes a good challenge.

Community School of Davidson is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Pine Lake Prep just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Island Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Lincoln Charter 105-66. The Raptors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-28.

Mountain Island Charter now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Community School of Davidson, they now also have a losing record at 8-9.

Community School of Davidson came up short against Mountain Island Charter when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 73-66. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jones, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 25 points.
