Softball Recap: Hermiston Takes a Loss

If Hermiston was riding high fresh off their 20-4 takedown of Southridge last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Kennewick Lions on Friday, falling 12-6. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jordyn Emerick was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Karsyn Botefuhr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Hermiston has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Kennewick, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lions beat Hermiston by a score of 24-18 later that day.
