Softball Recap: Gonzales Wins Going Away Against John F. Kennedy

Gonzales won the last time they faced John F. Kennedy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Apaches blew past the Rockets 13-5. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Gonzales let Alaina Valle and Peyton Springfield run wild. Valle went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Springfield went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Springfield has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ava Carrizales, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Gonzales kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.

Gonzales has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for John F. Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
