Softball Recap: Hanover Triumphs

Hanover lost to Atlee back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hawks came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 8-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

The team relied heavily on Kaileigh Byars, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Willow Dickenson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Hanover hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Hanover back to even at 3-3. As for Atlee, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hanover is set to take on their familiar foe Highland Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Atlee will square off against rival Henrico at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
