Baseball Recap: Oakland Tech Comes Up Short

Oakland Tech couldn't beat Skyline on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. The Bulldogs lost 17-8 to the Titans. Even though they lost, the Bulldogs' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Elijah Rucker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Hayden Burton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Oakland Tech's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Skyline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakland Tech will head out to challenge Piedmont at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Highlanders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Skyline, they will venture away from home to take on Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
