Basketball Game Preview: Church Point Bears vs. Midland Rebels

The Church Point Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Midland Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Church Point earned a 50-40 win over Brother Martin. The 50-point effort marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Midland waltzed into their contest last Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 68-54 victory over the Knights.

Midland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Church Point, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Things could have been worse for Church Point, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-43 loss to Midland in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Church Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
