Basketball Recap: Ardrey Kell Find Success

Ardrey Kell won the last time they faced Berry, and Layla Mapp did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Ardrey Kell Knights' way against the Berry Cardinals on Friday as the Ardrey Kell Knights made off with a 54-31 victory thanks in part to Mapp, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Imani Shelton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine boards. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Despite the loss, Berry still got an impressive performance from Zahnia Long, who posted 24 points.

The win got Ardrey Kell back to even at 6-6. As for Berry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Ardrey Kell will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Myers Park at 6:00 p.m. As for Berry, they will head out to take on Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berry is facing Ballantyne Ridge at the right time seeing as Ballantyne Ridge is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
