Basketball Game Preview: Dumas Demons vs. West Plains Wolves

Dumas is 0-4 against West Plains since January of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Dumas Demons will head out to face off against the West Plains Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Dumas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Dumas will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Canyon, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Dumas walked away with a 41-28 victory over Canyon on Friday.

Meanwhile, West Plains came up short against Amarillo on Monday and fell 58-51. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Sandies are ranked 38th).

Dumas pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.2 points. As for West Plains, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Dumas was taken down by West Plains 68-26 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Dumas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
