Volleyball Recap: Galeton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Galeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Smethport Hubbers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hubbers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

Smethport was led to victory by Jenna Goodman and Kaylin Ruffner. Goodman had four digs and two aces, while Ruffner had 12 digs. That's the most digs Ruffner has posted since back in September. Macy Smith also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Galeton's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Smethport, with the victory, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 2-12.

Galeton and Smethport could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Tigers will square off against Williamson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (472 vs. 162). Meanwhile, Smethport (ranked 450th) will meet Elk County Catholic (ranked 100th) at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
