Baseball Preview: Churchill Bulldogs vs. Lake Braddock Bruins
The Churchill Bulldogs will challenge the Lake Braddock Bruins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Churchill's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.
Churchill lost 12-2 to Whitman on Tuesday.
Churchill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Clark, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Clark snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Lake Braddock got the win against Edison on Monday by a conclusive 11-4. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Lake Braddock also got a great performance from Jack Cavallario as he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evan George, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. CJ Prentiss was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Lake Braddock now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Churchill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
