Baseball Recap: Northwood Has No Trouble Against Mansfield

Northwood won the last time they faced Mansfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gators blew past the Wolverines 18-1. With that victory, the Gators brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Northwood let Chase Basco and Randall Carraway run wild. Basco went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Carraway went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Northwood is 2-1 when Carraway posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Dunnam, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Northwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Northwood and bumps their season record up to 7-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Mansfield, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.
