Preview: Jacobs Golden Eagles vs. Dundee-Crown Chargers
The Jacobs Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Dundee-Crown Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Jacobs has not done well against the Trojans recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jacobs strolled past the Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 53-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jacobs.
Jacobs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Roper, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Treval Howard was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Dundee-Crown came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Hampshire by a score of 47-36 on Tuesday. The win was just what Dundee-Crown needed coming off of a 55-30 loss in their prior contest.
Jacobs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for Dundee-Crown, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Jacobs beat the Chargers 50-43 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Jacobs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
