Baseball Recap: Erath Beats Central Catholic for Their Third Straight Win

Erath waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Central Catholic Eagles by a score of 10-7. The Bobcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Landen Derouen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Carter Champagne was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Talan Landry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got Erath back to even at 9-9-1. As for Central Catholic, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Looking ahead, Erath will face off against Kaplan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Catholic has already played their next game (against Jesuit), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
