High school football: Alvin Henderson of Alabama tops national rushing yardage leaderboard

Elba senior and Auburn commit has scored 16 rushing touchdowns in past two games.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Alvin Henderson of Elba (Ala.) is high school football’s national leader in rushing yardage.

In four games this season, Henderson has 1,297 yards and 24 touchdowns on 98 carries. The four-star Auburn pledge has rushed for 791 yards and 16 touchdowns in the past two weeks alone while averaging 13.4 yards per carry. He has eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards in all four of his high school seasons and has career totals of 8,571 yards and 156 touchdowns.

Jayden Milton of West Carroll (Atwood, Tenn.) is No. 2 with 1,258 rushing yards. He has at least 230 rushing yards in all four games including a 406-yard performance last week where he scored five touchdowns. The senior is averaging 11.9 yards per carry this season for the 3-1 War Eagles.

Senior Braxtyn Brown of Columbia Montour Vo-Tech (Bloomsburg, Pa.) is third with 1,110 yards. Brown is coming off a 307-yard rushing performance where he scored four times on only eight carries.
