Football Recap: Brandon Kent Leads High Point's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact High Point can now relate to. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramsey Rams on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.

Despite the loss, High Point still got an impressive performance from Jerron Martress, who rushed for 226 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 56 yards and two TDs. Martress has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Even if they lost, High Point's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Brandon Kent was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

High Point moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Ramsey, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

High Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ramsey, they will venture away from home to challenge Glen Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Rams' offense will have their work cut out for them.
