Baseball Preview: Mount Vernon Knights vs. Blind Brook Trojans
The Mount Vernon Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Blind Brook Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Vernon's hitters haven't had much luck over their past seven matches, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.
Saturday just wasn't the day for Mount Vernon's offense. They lost 11-0 to Mamaroneck on Saturday.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Blind Brook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Pawling by a score of 8-4 on Saturday.
Robberto Cuesta IV made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
