Basketball Game Preview: Petersburg Vikings vs. Keyser Golden Tornado

The Petersburg Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Keyser Golden Tornado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, everything went Petersburg's way against Pendleton County as Petersburg made off with a 49-28 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Keyser beat Hedgesville 53-41 on Wednesday. Given the Golden Tornado's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Eagles are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Petersburg back to even at 10-10. As for Keyser, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Petersburg took a serious blow against Keyser in their previous matchup back in January, falling 69-32. Can Petersburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
