Football Recap: Turlock Christian Comes Up Short

Turlock Christian extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the Valley Christian Lions, falling 56-0. The Eagles lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in September of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 41-22 score last time.

As for Valley Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Riley Garcia, who picked up 73 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 32 yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 58 yards. Aiden Johnson got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Turlock Christian will venture away from home to take on Florin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Encina at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
