Riverside-Durham and East Chapel Hill are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Riverside-Durham nor East Chapel Hill posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Things were looking good for Riverside-Durham after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Riverside-Durham saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Dippolito, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Dippolito has hit this season. Another was Kj Burton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither East Chapel Hill nor Riverside-Durham made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2.

Riverside-Durham's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for East Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Riverside-Durham came out on top in a nail-biter against East Chapel Hill in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
